1. Probabilistic vs. Cryptographic Signals
While C2PA Content Credentials provide cryptographically verified assertions from signing authorities, statistical text classifiers and frequency vision models are probabilistic. False positives and false negatives can occur due to compression, editing, translation, or novel generator architectures.
2. Permitted and Prohibited Conduct
- Permitted: Personal verification, journalistic research, creative auditing, educational study, and validating personal digital assets.
- Prohibited: Submitting copyrighted media or private URLs without authorization, automated denial-of-service attempts against scanning endpoints, or reverse-engineering rate-limiting systems.
3. Watermark Remover Tool
The watermark removal functionality is provided for legitimate utility: stripping invisible tracking steganography, cleaning personal metadata before public sharing, or removing unwanted artifacts from images you own. You agree not to use the removal tool to violate copyright laws or misrepresent synthetic media as certified human journalism.
4. Service Availability & Changes
As an independent free utility, features and detector models may be updated, recalibrated, or modified as AI watermarking standards evolve. We do not guarantee uninterrupted uptime or indefinite backward compatibility.
5. Limitation of Liability
AIWaterMarkCheck is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service operators are not liable for any damages arising from reliance on detection outputs or removed watermarks.
